Two days after the ceremony at the reopening of the State Farm Center to honor him and dedicate the basketball court in his name, former Illinois coach Lou Henson called into Jim Turpin’s “Penny for Your Thoughts” show on WDWS on Friday morning to chat up an old friend.
who served as the play-by-play man for the majority of the games Henson coached the Illini.
Henson, 83, expressed concern for Turpin’s wife, Louise. He also offered his take on the search committee Illinois launched on Friday to find a replacement for Mike Thomas as the school’s AD.
