CHAMPAIGN — Two days before the Illinois basketball team is to start of practice, coach John Groce updated the status of freshman guard Jalen Coleman-Lands, who had spent the previous 12 weeks in a walking boot while recovering from a stress fracture in his leg.
In a statement released on the program’s Twitter account, Groce said Coleman-Lands “would begin the process of progressing back to basketball activities.”
Speaking on “SportsTalk” on WDWS 1400-AM on Wednesday, Groce added “in terms of the stress fracture itself, it looks good and we’re able to move him forward and excited about his return to our team.
