CHAMPAIGN — Inside access to Illinois basketball is typically limited. But this weekend, interested high school coaches form the state and beyond are invited to get an up-close look at John Groce’s program during his annual coaches’ clinic at the Ubben Basketball Complex on Friday and Saturday.
“You’re going to get three Illini practices in a 24-hour period,” Illinois special assistant to the head coach Darren Hertz said. “It’ll be three different practices. Two will be high-level intensity, as our guys should know what’s going on a couple weeks into practice. There won’t be any competitiveness in the third one with guys going against each other, just a learning session.
