CHAMPAIGN — Zach Grant has caught passes from Wes Lunt before.
More than Mikey Dudek and more than Geronimo Allison — combined.
The Illinois wide receiver, however, has yet to catch a pass from Lunt since he arrived at Illinois.
Both Rochester products — who led the Rockets to two Class 4A state titles at Memorial Stadium — transferred to Illinois prior to the 2013 season.
Lunt’s arrival, obviously, generated more notoriety than Grant’s, who walked on at Illinois and is now on scholarship.
After sitting out the 2013 season because of NCAA transfer rules, both were poised to take to the field in 2014.
