For the last several years, I have wanted nothing more than to see my favorite NFL team draft or even sign an Illinois player. I have finally had my prayers answered.
After going undrafted this weekend, former Fighting Illini wide receiver Geronimo Allison inked a free agent deal with the Green Bay Packers. Despite some weaknesses in his game, the talented wideout may be an option for the Packers and their high-octane offense next season.
Allison, who was Illinois' leading receiver in 2015 (he had just a hair under 900 yards) looks to be set up nicely to succeed with Green Bay.
