Recently, I was able to take in my first Cubs game in the “bid video board” era of Wrigley Field. If you follow the team you know the screen has been a subject of debate – does it ruin the magic of the “old timey” ballpark? Or was it an overdue move to bring Wrigley into the 21st century?
Put me in the latter camp for a couple reasons.
First, the big board allows fans to see and hear things that add to the gameday experience: highlights from Cubs teams of yesteryear, promo videos of the team’s community work and player “get to know yous”, a team intro video narrated by none other than Bill Murray.
