CHAMPAIGN — A University of Illinois football player who was wanted in connection with a crime that took place last month in Georgia was arrested on Wednesday afternoon.
Julian Malcom Jones, 18, who listed an address in the 900 block of South Third Street, Champaign, was arrested by police for being a fugitive from justice.
Jones was wanted by Georgia authorities for a crime that took place during the weekend of Oct. 16-18, which was the Illini football team’s off week.
Jones, a freshman linebacker, is being held at the Champaign County Jail.
He is scheduled to appear in arraignment court at 1:30 p.
