OAHU, Hawaii — Freshman Bing Singhsumalee tied for 13th on Wednesday, leading the Illinois women’s golf team to fifth place at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational.
“Everyone contributed to the success at the event,” UI coach Renee Slone said. “It was good to have different people step up at different times. It was great to see us put together three strong rounds at the tournament.”
Singhsumalee, who had eight birdies, totaled 220.
Illinois’ Grace Park (223) tied for 21st.
Oklahoma State and Texas A&M each totaled 860, but Oklahoma State clinched the title based on the tiebreaker.
