CHAMPAIGN — The last McDonald's All-American to join either Illinois basketball program was now former Illini Chatrice White in 2014. The last for the Illini men's team was Jereme Richmond in 2010.
Both programs had two players nominated for this year's McDonald's All-American teams, with the nominations released Tuesday morning.
East St. Louis center Jeremiah Tilmon and injured Peoria Manual guard Da'Monte Williams were among the boys' nominations. Another nominee of note was La Lumiere center Jacob Epperson, who is among the last remaining recruiting targets for John Groce.
Two-thirds of Matt Bollant's 2017 recruiting class was also nominated in Bolingbrook wing Jnaya Walker and Florida point guard Channise Lewis.
