When Lovie Smith was announced as the new head coach of Fighting Illini football, it was only a matter of time until he established his own, new coaching staff. While a couple staffers managed to stick around in different roles, just about everyone from the Beckman/Cubit regime was eventually replaced. One casualty of that transition was wide receiver coach Mike Bellamy.
Well on Wednesday the former Illinois assistant announced that he'll be joining the Mississippi State football program. Bellamy didn't specify a particular position, but he'll likely be filling some sort of support role during the 2016 season.
