BALTIMORE — Two of the top scorers in Illinois soccer history have been reunited. Jannelle Flaws was selected by the Chicago Red Stars with the 33rd overall pick in the NWSL College Draft on Friday and will join former Illini midfielder Vanessa DiBernardo on the league runners-up next season.
“To be drafted and given the opportunity to continue to play at the next level is something I’ve wanted for a very long time,” Flaws said. “Not only do I get to do that, but I get to do that at home, surrounded by my family and friends. It’s an incredible feeling.
