CHAMPAIGN — On Thursday, coach Lovie Smith thanked the Illini Quarterback Club members for their support.
He hopes to see them, and many of their friends, for tonight’s 8 p.m. kickoff against No. 10 Penn State at Memorial Stadium.
“A lot of you came up to Chicago last week (for the game against South Florida) and we heard you,” Smith told the luncheon crowd of 175 at the Champaign Suites (formerly Hawthorn Suites). “I’d like to thank you in advance for coming out (tonight).”
Smith liked the way his team bounced back from a disappointing loss at Soldier Field against South Florida.
