IOWA CITY, Iowa — The situation is different. Much different. But Bill Cubit knows the building.
On Nov. 17, 2007, Cubit’s Western Michigan Broncos ended Iowa’s bowl hopes with a 28-19 win at Kinnick Stadium.
“We played really well,” Cubit said. “We had some good players.”
The game against Iowa was part of Western Michigan’s scheduling strategy at the time. The team played a late-season game against Illinois in 2008 at Detroit’s Ford Field.
“We always tried to get a money game at the end of the season,” Cubit said.
The game was in the 11th week.
