CHAMPAIGN — Dave Downey saw first-hand what Loyola Chicago basketball was like 55 years ago.
And the former Illinois standout is relishing what the Ramblers are accomplishing this month, with the program back in the Final Four for the first time since Loyola won an NCAA title in 1963.
"I'm happy for them," Downey said Monday morning during WDWS 1400-AM's "Monday Morning Quarterbacks." "I'm happy for them. I'm happy for Sister Jean. It's good for college basketball because there's been enough bad things going on."
