RANTOUL — Henry Enyenihi didn’t grow up with a particular desire to play football.
Until he turned 10 years old.
“Kids on the team used to wear jerseys to school on Friday, and I wanted a jersey,” Enyenihi said with a laugh. “I played the following year and ended up falling in love with the game.”
Experienced running back depth behind incumbent Josh Ferguson isn’t there for Illinois.
At least not yet.
Dre Brown seemed to seize the backup job this past spring before an ACL injury halted those plans. This left Enyenihi as the only running back who had gone through a spring practice with Illinois before Camp Rantoul started.
