CHAMPAIGN — Ted Karras and Wes Lunt showed up to the Memorial Stadium press box on Monday afternoon wearing white football pants and their customary white Illinois polos they sport before meeting with the media.
They were ready for the first Illini practice this week ahead of Saturday’s 2:30 p.m. homecoming game against Wisconsin. Well ahead of time.
“I don’t like to be rushed,” Karras said with a straight face. “It takes me a while to get all my stuff on.”
Karras, the Illini right guard, and Lunt, the Illini quarterback, are familiar with a problem facing Bill Cubit’s Illini — injuries — but are healthy head into the second half of the season after missing significant time last season after suffering serious injuries.
