ARTHUR — Delbert’s Clothing is going out of business but not before one more visit from its most famous customer.
“I need to get there,” Hall of Fame basketball coach Lou Henson said Monday. “They’ve always been a first-class place.”
Henson still owns two orange blazers purchased from the downtown Arthur staple. A guest at Monday’s “News-Gazette Sports Page” radio show in Champaign, the former Illinois coach said he’d like to add to his unique collection later this week.
On Wednesday, Delbert’s will stage an invitation-only sale for longtime customers like Henson, who has done business with them for more than 40 years.
