One of the most popular basketball players in Illinois history ditched No. 11 for a suitcoat and slacks today in Springfield.
Dee Brown, recently hired by the UI as special assistant to the athletic director, was in the state capital to lobby legislative leaders to move on a higher-education budget.
Illinois has been without a budget since a new fiscal year started July 1.
