Three items from Bill Cubit’s press conference Monday that caught the ear of beat writer Matt Daniels:
1. The optimistic timeline after Mikey Dudek tore his ACL in April was the Illinois wideout could return in early October.
Don’t count on seeing the Naperville native out on the Memorial Stadium turf against Nebraska even if Cubit didn’t rule him out on Monday.
“Mikey is progressing pretty well,” Cubit said. “He’s cutting now, but he has not caught balls from a quarterback.”
Cubit did say another wide receiver hampered by an injury won’t play against Nebraska.
