CHAMPAIGN — Chayce Crouch was out on the Memorial Stadium turf Saturday night, directing the Illinois offense at times.
When the backup quarterback will do so in an actual game this season is unclear.
Crouch said he’s not too concerned
“We don’t discuss playing time as an offense,” Crouch said. “I’m trying to be as prepared as I can every day.”
If all goes according to plan, Wes Lunt is the starting quarterback for Illinois when it opens the season on Sept. 4 against Kent State. Crouch has yet to play in a game with the Illini.
