CHAMPAIGN — Matt Bollant tried to bring Tyra Buss to Illinois. On Wednesday, the Indiana star showed why.
The Mount Carmel native scored 21 points, had five rebounds, four assists and two steals as the Hoosiers cruised to an 80-68 win at State Farm Center.
Bollant was impressed.
“I admire the energy that she plays with,” Bollant said. “She can do that 38, 40 minutes, which is pretty unique.”
Illinois senior guard Kyley Simmons would have much rather had Buss as a teammate than as an opponent.
“She’s a really good player,” Simmons said.
