Darius Paul's time with the Illinois men's basketball program is over.
The university announced the junior forward's dismissal from the team Friday night via press release, a little less than a week after Paul's arrest in France.
“After further review of the situation, Darius has been dismissed from our team,” coach John Groce said. “Although his playing days here are over, we are committed to helping him move forward.”
Paul's dismissal comes on the heels of an indefinite suspension handed down by Groce on Saturday after Paul's second arrest while part of the Illini program, for which he never played a regular-season game.
