Each week, we’ll gauge whether Bill Cubit can hold onto the Illinois job past the 2015 season: The 62-year-old coaching lifer couldn’t remember a game in which his offense showed so little sign of life like it did in its beatdown at Penn State. Hopefully that game plan was thrown out on the flight back to Champaign. A bus trip awaits his Illini this Saturday, but another poor showing could result in a long November for Cubit and his staff.
