FRANKFORT — Kurt Gavin wasn’t derailed by any of the allegations brought forth against the Illinois football program the past two months.
“I heard about it, but I didn’t really think anything of it,” Gavin said Friday after he became the 10th commit for the Illini in the Class of 2016. “I’m there for more of the school part. Coaches come and go, but you have to fall in love with the school.”
Gavin, an offensive lineman from Lincoln-Way East, fell in love with Illinois. The buildings. The campus. The academic side. His future dorm room, too.
