While the Illinois men's gymnastics team takes part in an NCAA championship meet beginning today, Rae Balthazor simultaneously will represent the Illini in the national women's gymnastics event.
Balthazor will take part in the all-around competition starting today at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis. The sophomore's regional score of 39.250 ranks ninth among the 12 individuals who advanced to the national all-around showcase.
Balthazor will perform her routines alongside members of the California squad beginning today at 6 p.m.
The Boulder, Colo., native broke a two-year drought for the Illinois women regarding individual involvement at the NCAA Championships.
