MADISON, Wis. — A rematch against Wisconsin went nothing like the first game for the Illinois women's basketball team.
Seeking their first regular-season sweep of a Big Ten opponent since 2016, the Illini — who recorded a 78-68 victory over the Badgers at State Farm Center on Feb. 10 — couldn't repeat that success 10 days later.
Instead, Wisconsin led for much of Wednesday night's rematch and eventually handed Illinois a 75-67 defeat in front of 3,866 fans at the Kohl Center.
The Badgers did so largely by dominating the Illini (10-17, 2-14 Big Ten) on the glass and in the painted area.
