Illinois’ Ayo Dosunmu and Kofi Cockburn were named Thursday to the Naismith Trophy Midseason Team, according to the Atlanta Tipoff Club.
The Illini are just one of four schools — and the only Big Ten program — to have multiple players on the 30-player list. The award has been given annually since 1969 to the nation’s most outstanding college basketball player.
Eight Big Ten players were selected, including Iowa’s Luka Garza and Minnesota’s Marcus Carr.
Illinois is back in action Friday night at Nebraska.
