Most probably didn’t anticipate Ayo Dosunmu hanging around college for three seasons, but boy are Illinois fans happy he did.
The Chicago native surpassed the 1,000-point mark in his career with a fastbreak and-1 shortly before halftime on Friday afternoon against the Ohio Bobcats.
Dosunmu started his junior year 28- and 22-point performances against North Carolina A&T and Chicago State, respectively.
He notched 442 points his freshman year with a 13.8 PPG average and 498 points his sophomore season on 16.6 PPG.
He’s the 51st player in school history to reach 1,000 points.
