Illinois’ grip on the title “Wheelchair Racing Capital of the World” just got tighter. A lot tighter.
Already the home of eight-time Boston Marathon winner Jean Driscoll and current megastar Tatyana McFadden, the Illinois team set eight world records last week at the Swiss Series in Arbon, Switzerland. Probably brought home a bunch of cheese and watches, too.
McFadden followed her marathon wins at Boston and London by setting records in the 400, 800 and 1,500 meters.
She had plenty of help from her friends. London Marathon winner Josh George set a world record in the 800 meters.
