If you see a scooter zipping by on the Illinois campus, odds are pretty good it belongs to a football player.
But not for long.
First-year Illinois coach Lovie Smith asked his players to put the motorbikes away.
“The team was told they could no longer ride scooters around campus,” Illinois sports information director Kent Brown said.
“In the National Football League, there’s a clause written into every contract that if someone is ever involved in an accident regarding a motorcycle their contract is void.”
Smith spent the last 11 seasons working as an NFL coach.
