David Williams cares about Illinois. Deeply.
Though he is a half-continent away, living and working in California, the star receiver for Mike White is always thinking about his alma mater.
Illinois wants Williams involved in the program again, nominating him for a spot on the athletic board. On Thursday in Springfield, the school’s board of trustees is expected to confirm Williams’ post. His term runs to 2020.
“Being a part of the athletic program and being a part of one of the top-20 universities in the world, it is a great honor to be a part of the board,” Williams said.
