CHAMPAIGN — Geronimo Allison has turned into Wes Lunt’s favorite target through the Illinois football team’s first four games.
The senior wide receiver found his name added to the Biletnikoff Award watch list on Tuesday after he’s hauled in 24 passes for 362 yards this season, both team highs and both marks that leave him third in the Big Ten.
He enters Saturday’s game against Nebraska 40 yards shy of reaching 1,000 receiving yards at Illinois. The award given to the nation’s top wide receiver will be trimmed to 10 semifinalists on Nov. 17 before three finalists are announced on Nov.
