The Florida-to-Illinois pipeline continues to expand. Illini football gained a commitment from Patrick Bryant, a three-star wide receiver from Jacksonville. Bryant announced his decision on Twitter Sunday afternoon:
The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder finished his junior season at Atlantic Coast High School with 45 receptions, 684 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Bryant narrowed his list down to West Virginia and Illinois last week but had more than a dozen Power Five suitors, including fellow B1G members Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Penn State and Rutgers. He is ranked 153rd nationally among wide receivers according to 247Sports.
Bryant doesn’t possess off-the-charts speed, but his leaping ability and 75-inch wingspan allows him to get separation from defenders and and make catches in traffic.
