On a strange day in college football, three-star wideout Chevy Brenson committed to Illinois’ 2021 class.
He announced his decision on Twitter.
The 6-foot-4, 200-pound tight end/wide receiver chose Illinois over other Group of Five offers, including Memphis, Toledo and Western Michigan. He is the 16th commit in the Illini’s 2021 class.
According to 247, Brenson is the 17th-best recruit in Missouri for next year’s class. He currently plays at Christian Brothers College (it’s a high school) where he had 44 catches and seven touchdowns in 2019.
Cory Patterson led the charge for the Illini to get Brenson.
