SPOKANE, Wash.—Idaho women's tennis lost (0-1, 0-0 Big Sky) lost 6-1 at Gonzaga (1-0, 0-0 WCC) Saturday at the Steven Center in Spokane, Washington.
Gonzaga controlled the doubles point winning all three matches and quickly sealed the match in singles taking all but one match.
Partners Laura Spataro and Anna Stefani were the first to finish in doubles action losing to Domonique Garley and Sara Komer, 6-2. The Zags kept it rolling as a pair bested teammates Marianna Petrie and Maria Tavares, 6-2.
At No. 1 singles, Petrie competed against Sophie Whittle, who is ranked 5th in the nation in singles, but Petrie had to retire due to an injury giving Gonzaga the first singles points.
