Idaho volleyball proved that they can overcome rough performances on Thursday.
The Vandals (16-10, BSC 11-4) battled through a five-set match to defeat University of Montana (7-21, 2-13 BSC) 19-25, 25-15, 25-27, 30-28, 19-17.
Most of Idaho’s offense came from familiar faces. Sophomore outside hitter Kaela Straw finished with 23 kills on a .417 hitting percentage, and fellow sophomore Sarah Sharp contributed 14 kills.
Idaho started off very slow. The Vandals allowed the Grizzlies to jump out to an 8-0 lead in the first set, assisted by six unforced Vandal errors in the first eight points.
