LEWISTON, Idaho—The University of Idaho Women's tennis opened Big Sky Conference Play with a 5-2 win over Idaho State in Lewiston.
The Vandals fell behind early in the match by losing the doubles point, but won five out of six singles matches to win the match overall 5-2.
The Bengals won two out of three doubles matches to win the doubles point. Laura Spataro and Maggie Chen picked up their second doubles win of the season, defeating Hristina Cvetkovic and Megan Poe 6-4 in the No. 1 spot. The lone win wasn't enough for the point as the Bengals' Angela Walker and Alexandra Arkhipov topped Melissa Huchet and Marta Magalhaes 7-6 and Madison Fenske and Melissa Coburn defeated Shion Watabe and Nicole Horackek 6-1, to take the point for Idaho State.
