INDIAN WELLS, Calif.— Idaho men's tennis blanked against Purdue in the first round of consolation play in the BNP Paribas Open Collegiate Tennis Tournament Saturday evening.
The Boilermakers took control of the match from the start. Carlos Longhi Neto and Lucas Coutinho lost to Stephan Koenigsfest and Athell Bennett 6-3 at double No. 1. Bruno Casino and Esteban Santibanez were bested by Santiago Galan and Franz Luna, 6-1, at No. 2.
In singles, the Vandals lost on the first three courts. Valentin Popescu fell to Koenigsfest 6-4, 6-2 at court three.
