CEDAR CITY, Utah – It was a tough afternoon for the Vandals on Friday in Cedar City, with Idaho (4-6-2, 0-2-1) falling to Southern Utah (2-9-0, 1-2-0), 3-0.
Idaho controlled for most of the first half, but a handful of tough bounces paired with a couple of injuries helped give Southern Utah an early advantage.
The Thunderbirds got on the board first after an unfortunate bounce led to a 1-on-1 between Makayla Presgrave and SUU's Makenzie Lawrence. Lawrence was true, putting Southern Utah up 1-0 just over 10 minutes in. The Thunderbirds would double their advantage in the 30th minute, scoring on another odd-man rush, to take the 2-0 advantage into the half.
