Coach Paul Petrino and his staff welcome two junior college transfers and one early high school graduate to the University of Idaho football program as the mid-year signing period begins. From the junior college ranks, Josh Herman (fullback) and Alfonso Onunwar (receiver) signed their letters. Joining them is high schooler Noah Johnson (offensive line).
“It’s a good group,” Petrino said. “We aren’t signing as many guys as we did my first two years. This is a good thing because it means we have a lot more guys coming back who we believe in.”
Petrino said they filled some immediate needs – filling the void created by the graduation of fullback Jake Manley, adding to the depth at receiver and building for the future in the offensive line.
