WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. – A young University of Idaho men's golf team showed daily improvement as it played in its second tournament of the spring.
Senior Ryan Porch led the Vandals at the Southwestern Invitational with his six-over 222 – good enough for a tie for 30th in the 14-team field.
"It's a matter of being a little more familiar with the course; settling in," coach David Nuhn said. "It's still very early in the spring. We're making shaking off a little bit of rust."
For the younger players, the transition from the snowy Palouse winter to full rounds on challenging courses will become easier in time.
