MOSCOW, Idaho – The game was between the two teams at the top of the Big Sky standings, but it turned into a rout as Idaho soccer scored three goals, matching Idaho's season-high, as the Vandals topped Portland State 3-1 Friday at the Kibbie Dome.
The Vandals got on the board with a header goal by Jayd Sprague in the 23rd minute. Alyssa Peters hit a beautiful corner kick across the goalkeeper's where Sprague outjumped her defender and put the ball over the goalkeeper's hands.
The one-goal lead held until the half, but the Vandals got to work early in the second.
