POCATELLO, Idaho – Roshaun Johnson rushed for three touchdowns, the Idaho defense forced four turnovers, including a Marcus Harris pick-six, and Idaho topped Idaho State 38-7 to claim the ICCU Battle of the Domes trophy for the second consecutive year.
The Vandals, behind starting true freshman quarterback Jack Layne, racked up 467 yards of offense, including a nine-play 52-yard opening drive that culminated in a two-yard rushing touchdown by Johnson.
The Bengals scored on their next drive, a 49-yard double reverse pass from Tyler Vander Waal to Benjamin Omayebu to even the game at 7-7.
