RENO, Nevada – Gevani McCoy found Turon Ivy Jr. for a 75-yard touchdown on the first play from scrimmage and the Idaho Vandals never trailed and improved to 2-0 after a 36-6 win over Nevada. The first win over the Wolfpack in 18 years and the first win over an FBS opponent since transitioning to the FCS.
For the first time since 1999, the Vandals defeated Nevada. The 33-6 win was the largest margin in Idaho history against the Wolfpack and the second time Nevada was held to only two field goals.
