PHOENIX, Ariz. – Junior Valeria Patino leads the Vandals to the sole possession of 7th place after the first two rounds of the Grand Canyon Women's Spring Invitational. After two rounds at the GCU Championship Golf Course, the Vandals sit four strokes behind 5th place UTEP.
Patino rallied after a triple bogey on the first hole of the day, firing in five birdies in the first round. She kept her momentum going in the second-round carding three more birdies. Patino scored even in both rounds and currently sits in a tie for 7th with 18 holes left to play on Tuesday.
