SACRAMENTO – The No. 14 Idaho Vandal football team rallied from a 17-point second-half deficit to take a fourth-quarter lead, but second-ranked Sacramento State scored with 1:48 to play to take a 31-28 lead and held on for the three-point win at Hornet Stadium Saturday night.
The Hornets racked up 299 yards rushing for the game and built a 24-7 lead with 7:40 left in the third quarter before Idaho offense kicked into gear.
The Vandals scored three touchdowns by Hayden Hatten on consecutive drives, two of which were started by Vandal interceptions on back-to-back defensive plays.
