MOSCOW, Idaho - The third-ranked Idaho Vandals were put into a position they have not been in all season, playing from behind. No. 16 Montana jumped out to a 20-0 first-half lead and a late comeback came up short as the Vandals fell to Montana 23-21 in the Battle of the Little Brown Stein.
Montana took nearly six minutes off the clock in an 11-play 49-yard drive that ended in a field goal and a 3-0 Montana lead. The Griz then did something that no other team has done this season, stopped the Vandals on the opening drive, forcing a punt after a low snap on third down.
