Moscow, ID - The Idaho Vandals renewed one of the most storied rivalries in school history when they crossed the border to take on the Washington State Cougars in the Hollingbery Fieldhouse.
Unfortunately, the match would go the way of the hosts when they jumped out to an early lead, clinching the doubles point and five of the first six singles points.
Naomi Shraeder got the Vandals on the board in the last match of the day, defeating WSUs Chisato Kanemaki in two sets (6-2, 6-2).
The Vandals return to action next weekend in a three-day tournament where they will face UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, and UC San Diego in a round robin format.
