PULLMAN, Wash – The Idaho Vandals (0-2) fell, 3-0, to No. 19-ranked Washington State (3-0) in the second and final nonconference match for the Vandals on Friday evening.
The nationally ranked Cougars started the game on the front foot, getting off three shots in the first four minutes. In the 24th minute, the Vandals had a counterattack and Myah Merino tallied the first shot for the Vandals, missing to the right of the frame. In the 44th minute WSU broke through, taking the 1-0 advantage on a Mykiaa Minniss goal.
The first 15 minutes of the second half were a midfield battle, with neither team able to grab a foothold.
