LARAMIE, Wyo.-- Idaho women's basketball (3-5) outscored the Cowgirls in all but the opening quarter, but it was a strong first quarter showing that gave Wyoming (6-2) all it needed to defeat the Vandals, 64-61, at Arena-Auditorium in Laramie Saturday afternoon.
Three Vandals found their way into the double-figures column as Mikayla Ferenz led all scorers with 18 points. Ferenz was 7-for-17 from inside the arc and connected on four triples. Her counterpart, Taylor Pierce, followed up with 14 points after catching fire in the third quarter going 4-for-5 from long distance.
